Visiting and booking
Where is OTOHAUZ?
Our studio is at 666 NW 36th St, Miami, FL 33127, in Allapattah, right where NW 36th Street meets I-95 and I-195. That puts us a few minutes from Wynwood, Midtown and the Design District, and a straight shot over the Julia Tuttle Causeway from Miami Beach.
What are your hours?
We're open Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM. Drop-offs and pickups happen during those hours, so pick a time on the booking form and we'll confirm it with you.
How do I get a quote?
Fill out the quote form with your car and the service you want, call us at (305) 330-3666, or email shop@otohauz.com. Prices depend on the car and the finish you pick, so we confirm the final number before any work starts.
Do you only work on exotic cars?
No. We do a lot of work on daily drivers too. Our Daily Protection package exists for exactly that: a car you drive every day on Miami highways and want to keep looking new.
How long will you have my car?
A full front of PPF takes 3 days and a full body takes 7, and the pickup date goes on your work order when you drop off. Window tint is usually done the same day. A ceramic coating needs 1 to 3 days, longer if the paint needs heavy correction, because the coating has to cure before the car goes back outside.
How do I pay?
We take major credit and debit cards. On bigger jobs we may ask for a deposit to hold your spot, and we'll tell you up front when we confirm your quote.
Paint protection film
How much does paint protection film cost in Miami?
At OTOHAUZ, full-front PPF starts from $2,500 and covers the hood, front bumper, fenders, headlights and mirror caps. Full-body PPF starts from $6,000. Our track package starts from $3,500 and adds the A-pillars, a roof strip, the rockers and the impact areas on the rear quarters. Your exact price depends on the car and the finish.
Is PPF worth it in Miami?
If you drive I-95, the Palmetto or the causeways, your front end takes a steady hit from sand and gravel. PPF takes those chips instead of your paint, and its top coat heals light scratches with heat. On a car you plan to keep, or sell in good shape, that's the whole point: the factory paint stays factory.
Can PPF change the color or finish of my car?
Yes. Clear film keeps the factory look. Satin or matte PPF turns a gloss car flat, and it still protects the paint. Want a new color too? Color PPF does both in one film.
Should I get PPF or a ceramic coating?
They do different jobs. PPF is a physical film that stops rock chips and scratches. A ceramic coating is a hard, slick layer that makes the car easier to clean and protects against water spots and bird droppings, but it won't stop a rock. Many owners do both: film on the front or the whole car, and a coating on top.
What is windshield PPF and how much is it?
It's a clear film over the windshield that absorbs rock impacts so the glass doesn't chip or crack. It's $650 at OTOHAUZ. It matters most on newer cars, where a replacement windshield with cameras and sensors costs a lot more and needs recalibration.
Window tint
How dark can I legally tint my windows in Florida?
Florida law requires the front side windows to let in at least 28% of light. The rear side windows and back glass must let in at least 15% on a car, or 6% on an SUV, truck or van. The windshield can only have a non-reflective strip along the top, above the AS-1 line. There are reflectivity limits too. We tint to those limits, because in Florida the installer can be charged for illegal tint, not just the driver.
What's the difference between ceramic tint and regular tint?
Cheap dyed film mostly just darkens the glass, and over time it can fade or turn purple. Nano-ceramic film blocks infrared heat and UV, so the cabin stays cooler without going darker than the law allows. It has no metal in it, so it won't mess with your phone signal or GPS.
How much does ceramic window tint cost?
Nano-ceramic tint on all the windows plus the windshield starts from $950 at OTOHAUZ. The final price depends on the car and which windows you want done.
Ceramic coating and paint correction
Do I need paint correction before a ceramic coating?
Almost always. A coating locks in whatever is under it, swirls included. Every coating we do starts with a decontamination wash and the level of correction your paint needs, from a one-step polish up to a three-step correction.
How much is a ceramic coating?
A ceramic coating on the body starts from $1,100, and wheels and calipers start from $400. If the car already has PPF, coating on top of the film starts from $750. Paint correction needs can change the price, and we confirm it before we start.
How long does a ceramic coating last?
It depends on the coating and how the car is looked after. Professional ceramic coatings generally last from about 2 to 7 years with regular hand washes. When we quote you, we'll tell you what to expect from the option you pick.
How should I wash a coated or filmed car?
By hand, with a pH-neutral shampoo, and never through an automatic brush wash. The brushes scratch the finish and wear down coatings. Our maintenance wash uses a snow-foam pre-wash and a hand wash that's safe on coatings and PPF.
Clubhouse and car storage
Do you offer car storage in Miami?
Yes. Storage is $799 a month per vehicle and includes climate-controlled indoor space, 24/7 monitored security, battery charging, a weekly start-up, tire protection blocks and one maintenance detail a month.
What is the OTOHAUZ clubhouse?
It's a private members' space for people who love cars. The Clubhouse membership is $1,100 a month and includes clubhouse access, storage for one car, unlimited maintenance washes, 5% member pricing on workshop services and invite-only events. Founders is $2,400 a month and covers storage for two cars, unlimited maintenance washes and priority access to events.
